1933年 東京都生まれ
芸術家、コンセプチュアル・アートの先駆者
1952年 学習院大学哲学科に入学、翌年 米ニューヨークへ移り住み、サラ ローレンス大学・ハーバード大学で学ぶ。
1960年代には前衛芸術グループ「フルクサス」の活動に参加。
パフォーマンス・アート「カット・ピース」や、言葉を集めた作品 「グレープフルーツ」などを発表、脚光を浴びる。
1966年 ロンドンに活動の場を移す。
インディカ・ギャラリーでの個展開催時にジョン・レノンと出会い、1969年に結婚。
ジョンと共に前衛的な音楽活動を行う傍ら、平和を訴える活動を世界規模で展開。
現在に至るまで、平和を求める芸術活動を精力的に行い、2007年にはイマジン・ピース・タワーをアイスランドのレイキャビクに完成させた。
オノ・ヨーコの作品は、ポーランド国内においては、1977 年にポズナンのAkumulatory 2ギャラリーで開催された国際フルクサス フェスティバル、1990年代にワルシャワの現代美術センターで開催された大規模な個展、そして2022年にポズナンのギャラリーArchive of Ideasで開催された展覧会 Fluxus in Pilsで展示されている。

The piece asks, "Have you lost sight of what is important?"
This is one of a series of works called 'Family Albums', which express women's inner rage. Bloodstained Everyday Sundries exposes the hidden violence in the home.
YOKO ONO, Born 18 February 1933, Tokyo. Artist, pioneer of conceptual art. In 1952, she entered the philosophy department of Gakushuin University, and the following year moved to New York to study at Sarah Lawrence College and Harvard University. In the 1960s, he participated in the activities of the avant-garde art group Fluxus, and came into the limelight with the performance art ”Cut Piece” and the word-collecting work ”Grapefruit”.
In 1966 she moved to London, where she met John Lennon. She married John in 1969. Alongside her avant-garde musical activities with John, she also worked on a global scale to appeal for peace. And to this day, she remains active in the arts for peace, completing the Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2007.
Yoko Ono works was presented in Poland during the international Fluxus Festival at Akumulatory 2 Gallery in Poznań in 1977 and - in the 1990s - in the artist's large solo exhibition at the Center of Contemporary Art in Warsaw, as well as - in 2022 - in the exhibition 'Fluxus in Pils' at the Archive of Ideas in Poznań.
