芸術家、写真家
1935年 東京都生まれ、岐阜県関市で育つ
1958年 岐阜大学卒業
1962年まで東京教育大学大学院(現 筑波大学)で学ぶ
1960年代から絵画・版画・写真を制作、1980年代からはスペインをはじめヨーロッパへ招聘されるなど、海外でも高い評価を得る
1971年から岐阜教育大学(現 岐阜聖徳学園大学)、1994年から女子美術大学で教鞭をとる
2017年 逝去

Akira Komoto: Japanese artist and photographer whose photographs are often taken outdoors.
Born 1935 in Tokyo, raised in Gifu Prefecture, Japan; graduated from Gifu University in 1958 and studied at the postgraduate school of Tokyo University of Education (now Tsukuba University) until 1962; since the 1960s has produced paintings, prints and photographs; since the 1980s has been highly regarded abroad, having been invited to exhibit in Spain and other countries of Europe.
He taught at Gifu University of Education (now Gifu Seitoku Gakuen University) from 1971 to 1974 and at Joshibi University of Art and Design from 1994.
He passed away in 2017.
